Despite Record Snow, Kerry Still Adamant for Climate Bill

Despite a record breaking blizzard in Washington that shut down the federal government this week, Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) hasn’t given up on climate change legislation this year. However, most members of the Senate are less keen on tackling a climate change bill this year.

Kerry is still adamant. “The inside-the-Beltway conventional wisdom that this issue has stalled is dead wrong,” Kerry said in a statement.

According to The Hill, most Senate Democrats don’t share Kerry’s enthusiasm for passing global warming legislation this year. They say the opinion is that Congress tackling global warming in a year with record snow may be a political loser. For all practical purposes, the bill is considered dead in the Senate this year.
