Russia to Lift Pork Ban from Three More States; All States Clear for Beef

New York and Utah have been removed from Russia’s A-H1N1 influenza-related suspension of U.S. pork exports, effective July 16. Beef and poultry exports from Wisconsin have also been cleared for export effective July 16, leaving no states ineligible to export beef to Russia for reasons related to A-H1N1 influenza. The updates are now posted in the FSIS Export Library.

Russia has also announced the lifting of its suspension on pork exports from Wisconsin. News reports indicate this change will be effective July 18, but it is not yet posted in the Export Library. Once updated, this change would apparently leave Florida as the only state still under Russia’s pork export suspension.

All information from Russia indicates that pork exports from Arizona and California are now eligible for export. These changes are still not reflected, however, in the Export Library. USMEF is seeking clarification on the status of these two states.
